Meet the Semler Family
At the heart of Alaska Expedition Lodge is the Semler family, whose dedication and expertise bring this remote experience to life.
Jason Semler was born and raised in Alaska and has spent his life mastering the wilderness. A skilled pilot, experienced fishing and hunting guide, and USCG-licensed captain, Jason’s passion for the outdoors is unmatched. His deep knowledge of Alaska’s rivers, lakes, and fly-fishing hotspots makes him an invaluable leader at the lodge.
Leslie Semler brings a keen eye for detail and exceptional hospitality to the lodge. With a background in aircraft mechanics and a commitment to excellence, she ensures every guest enjoys a comfortable and memorable stay. From gourmet meals and top-tier chefs to safety measures and seamless operations, Leslie’s touch is felt in every aspect of the lodge experience.
Their son, Peyton Semler, now 11, is already a well-loved member of the team. Growing up in the lodge, Peyton is comfortable around guests, helping with luggage, ATVs, and daily chores. During the season, he’s home-schooled at the lodge, but in the off-season, he attends school, dreaming of one day following in his father’s footsteps as a bush pilot.
Together, Jason and Leslie oversee lodge operations, ensuring that every guest’s trip is not just a vacation, but a true Alaskan adventure.
